Dr Raj Naik
Medical Qualification from Manchester University in 1986 and completed O&G Training in Newcastle followed by research fellowship and subspecialty training in Gynaecological Oncology at Gateshead with John Monaghan and Tito Lopes. Appointed a Consultant in Gynaecological Oncology at the Northern Gynaecological Oncology Centre in Gateshead in 2000 and recently made Clinical Director. I have published over 50 original articles in peer reviewed journals and co-authored the 10th and 11th Edition of Bonney’s Gynaecological Surgery. I have been invited speaker at various National and International Conferences. My current research interests are optimising surgical treatment of cervical cancer and ultraradical surgery in ovarian cancer. I am on the National Cancer Research Committee and am Scientific Editor for British Journal of Obstetrics & Gynaecology and Editor for the Cochrane Gynaecological Cancer Review Group.
