Prof Valentina Guarneri
Dr Valentina Guarneri, MD, PhD, is a Medical Oncologist. Since 2005 she is Assistant Professor of Oncology at University of Modena and Reggio Emilia. She completed her the postdoctoral fellow in Clinical and Experimental Oncology in 2006. Her research interest is mainly focused on trials neoadjuvant and adjuvant therapy for breast cancer patients, in particular with combination of chemotherapy and target directed agents with biomarker evaluation. Her clinical interest is specifically dedicated to the management of patients with breast cancer, gynaecologic cancer, and patients with metastatic bone disease.
In 2005, she completed a six months research program at the Department of Breast Medical Oncology, University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center, Houston Texas, where more recently she completed an appointment as Visiting Assistant Professor.
She has published about 50 papers in peer-reviewed international journals, and several book chapters. She is author of around 70 communications at national and international conferences. She acts as reviewer for several oncology journals, including The Oncologist, Breast Cancer Research and Treatment, Annals of Oncology, and Clinical Breast Cancer. She is member of several scientific society including ASCO and ESMO, and she is a also a member of the ESMO Young Oncologists Committee.
